ORDER:

 

            The following notification will be published for general information in the   extra – ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazettee, dated: 18 -10-2004.

 

NOTIFICATION

 

            “Whereas, the services of A.P. Excise Services and the A.P. Excise Sub-ordinate Services have been declared as ‘Essential Services’ under sub-clause (vi) of clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971 (Act 20 of 1971) in G.O. Ms. No. 66 Revenue (Excise I(2) Department dated 17.1.1996 and published in the A.P. Gazettee Part I Extraordinary dated 20.1.1996 and period for prohibition of strikes in the said services were extended for six months from time to time upto                               16.9. 2004.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

 

            And whereas,  the Government are satisfied that in public interest, it is necessary and expedient  to prohibit strikes in the said services for a further period of six months.

 

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act 1971 (Act 20 of 1971), the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby prohibits strikes in the Andhra Pradesh Excise Service and the Andhra Pradesh Excise Sub-ordinate Service in Prohibition & Excise Department for a period of six months with effect from 17.9.2004 in public interest.
